The big problem with anime, and public perception, isn't so much that people don't think it's funny. Lots do. But a big problem is that people seem to only accept one of three outcomes: Funny, Action, or they simply hate it all. A lot of people seem to be unable to imagine that anime can be deep and very thoughtful, or that something with little action or comedy can be good. (And, again, a lot of anime fans simply won't acknowledge that all anime ISN'T deep. It's a double edged sword there, I guess).
It's for these reasons that certain show will never, ever find a place on US airwaves, whilst the more action packed shows will.
I'll never get to Revolutionary Girl Utena or Fruits Basket, or something of it's ilk widely appreciated on american TV. Bah.
This is not a gothic blog. If you've come here looking for that, you've wasted your time and mine. My blog DOES contain racist material, get over it. Nobody on Earth has the right to NOT be offended. This blog protected by the 1st Amendment, so if you become offended, GTFO.
